From March 13 to 17, 2023, workshop 5 of the structuring training program called “interdisciplinarities” (PSF) was held at the Diawling National Park. The theme of the workshop was collective water management in the Lower Senegal River Delta and brought together Mauritanian, French and Senegalese researchers, as well as managers from the Diawling National Park and local populations.
The main objective of the workshop was to promote a dialogue between scientists and members of local society in order to better understand the issues related to water management in the region and to find suitable and sustainable solutions. Thanks to this workshop, a method of science-society dialogue was developed within the PND. The tools tested during this workshop will allow better dialogue in the future to promote more adapted and sustainable solutions.
