The Diawling National Park, central core of the Transfrontier Biosphere Reserve (RBTDS) undertook investigations on February 26, 2008 on flamingos in order to identify their potential nesting sites in the RBTDS. The two species of flamingos (Phoenicopterus minor et Phoenicopterus ruber) have been observed, but only the greater flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber) nested.
