At the basis of governance, the Development and Management Plan

To organize and coordinate its activities in line with its missions, Since 1997, the PND has had a Development and Management Plan (PAG) five-year plan defining all the management measures to be carried out during each year of the budgetary year. The latest one defines the activities and results planned for the period 2018-2022, and is composed of 6 programs divided into concrete and budgeted actions to maintain the good health of the area:

  1. Hydrological management
  2. Management conservatory
  3. Co-management with the populations local
  4. Territorial development Oenology
  5. Communication and environmental education
  6. Governance shared and management of the institution

To run this PAG, the PND is managed by a director, Daf Ould Sehla Ould Daf, supported by a Board of Directors (CA) which meets three times a year, a scientific council and a Multidisciplinary Hydrological Monitoring Committee (CSH).

The park teams are distributed between the operational services, necessary for the smooth running of activities of the PND (Conservation, Observatory, Surveillance and monitoring, Ecodevelopment, Information Systems and Databases, and Communication) and the support functions, necessary for the proper functioning of the institution (Management Secretariat, Department of Administrative and Financial Affairs (DAAF), Accounting/Financial Resources, Human Resources, General Resources). In total, we count more than forty peopleIncluding half is located at management level in Nouakchott and the other half on the ground.
