The Senegal River delta is the subject of strong development pressure which raises fears of a loss of its interest in biodiversity. The National Office for Hunting and Wildlife (ONCES) and the Western Palearctic Migratory Birds association (OVPO) have undertaken a series of studies and actions since 1986 in order to help the governments of Senegal and Mauritania to find the best compensatory solutions for the developments.
