City Mag – The Diawling, a national park to discover

By creating the Diawling National Park in 1991, the Mauritanian state restored an ecosystem that had been heavily disrupted in the Senegal River delta by the creation of the Diama anti-salt dam. Today, nature has regained its balance and people are once again living from their traditional activities: fishing, market gardening and crafts... In 2005, the PND, like its neighbor the Djoudj National Bird Park (Senegal), joined the Transboundary Biosphere Reserve of the lower delta of the Senegal River.
