Capacity & skills building

The Development and Management Plan (PAG) of the PND includes a component of strengthening the capacities and skills of its staff, to enable them to carry out their conservation and development missions, through the use of tools and effective working methods.

PND agents in conservation training

The PND training plan

Following an internal audit carried out by a consultant, a training plan was put in place in 2020 to allow the PND to have knowledge and visibility on its missions and objectives, in its different areas of intervention. Indeed, an establishment that wants to structure itself and develop must optimize the productivity of its material and human resources, and therefore implement skills strengthening in the light of a human resources diagnosis.

The different types of training

PND agents benefit from two types of training :

  • Technical training that specifically focuses on biodiversity conservation tools and mechanisms and environmental protection (conservation, protected areas, surveillance, biodiversity, fauna and flora, hydrology, hydrogeology, etc.)
  • Training aimed at transversal skills : Indeed, Park staff need to develop their skills to cope with the changes in their missions. To adapt to the specific nature of the PND's missions, certain executives and employees will have to assimilate the administrative and technological tools put (or to be put) in place.

These training courses can be organized by the PND itself, or by partner organizations such as BACoMaB, Ramsar, etc.
